Development blog (12/22/2017)

Today we launch our blog, from now on we will publish our weekly blogs here alongside other interesting articles. This is in order to create a place where people can find interesting content about our game and about game development in general.

This week we have worked very hard in our game. We have been working on the animations of the fighters of the game. We created different animations for each of the actions that the characters can make (idle, attack, die, punch, kick, etc). To do so we used Anima2D, this tool is an Unity add-on so you can usid in the Unity editor. Anima2D allows the developer to create sprite meshes and bones, and it also allows to create your 2D animations inside the Unity editor which is very useful because then we do not have to import anything like JSONs or anything else but the sprites.

We have also been working on the battle system, now that we had all the animations and the battle effects we had to implement them in the battle system. Right now we have a fully operative battle system that looks very cool. We still have to polish some details but things are looking good.

One of the most difficult things that we are doing at the moment is adapting our backens system. In the beggining we started saving all the player progress and information locally, but we entered the Gamesparks indie program so now we are adapting the old code to the new backend system. This is causing as some problem because we need to adapt some type of data structures. We think that Gamesparks is a great tool and we will dedicate a post to it in the future.

Finally, we have to say that we finished yesterdey our brand new logo for the game. You can take a look at it in al our social media accounts.

This is everything we have been working on this week, stay tuned to discover the latest news.
